Emily - puttin’ da’ bomb in Bombers

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Emily comes from a long line of Bombers. She is preceded by her mom and a bunch of her relatives. So, being a Bomber is really significant to her and her family. It was clear from my time with her that she makes them proud, and for good reason…she’s da’ bomb!

Given her family history, we had to do some of her portraits at her school, the alma mater of her mom and so many of her relatives.

I love his one because it tells the story so well and because it’s clear that Emily’s mom is so very proud.

More from around the Richland High campus

The rest of our time was spent just hangin’ around some cool, historic parts of Richland.

Thanks Emily! It was a blast hangin’ with you.

Mike - High and Lifted Up

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

I love senior pics because the sessions are always a blast. With Mike, we headed up to his family friend’s property, which sits atop a hill overlooking the Tri-Cities. Sweet view…and I’m not just talkin’ about Mike, all you ladies.

Mike’s family just so happen to be friends of ours. They’re such a cool family. Check this out…Dad is caucasian, Mom is Japanese, they speak Spanish and they used to live in Venezuela!

After our session, Mike and his brother hung around and grabbed some air time on their friends’ trampoline. It was a great time, but I don’t think these guys would ever make it as ballet dancers or figure skaters. I’m just sayin’…

Miguel - tu eres hermoso y puedes saltar muy arriba! Hasta!

Jessica - Singin’ and a Dancin’

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Apparently, our town is filled with great seniors. Jessica is a sweet girl with a huge heart. She’s an accomplished singer and has been on her school’s dance team for 4 years! But for her it isn’t about vanity or just becoming a superstar. After high school, Jessica wants to go to a school in Tennessee to focus on using her talents in a ministry context. Smart, faithful, caring, talented, and pretty…there’s no stopping this girl!

Note: These portraits are totally legit. At no time did we trespass on private property. ; )

Jessica - thanks for being flexible during our shoot. Congratulations and blessings to you.

When Goldfish Chew Gum and Blow Bubbles

Monday, September 10th, 2007

We recently found out that a friend of ours had just finished writing a children’s book! She and her husband are parents, counselors, and now authors/publishers. We, of course HAD to go to the book signing event.

The book is entitled, When Goldfish Chew Gum and Blow Bubbles.

The kids couldn’t wait for Yolanda to start reading it. They wanted to hear part of it right at the store!

We were so excited to have a signed copy! Here is Jennifer Hill, the author, giving us her autograph.

The illustrator, Kelcey Brower, was on hand as well. Such a talented young lady. I’m sure she has great things in her future.

We had Jennifer and Kelcey describe how they met and how the book came together.

My boy loves his copy. The whole ride home, he would not let go of it. Here he is getting into it before we even left the booksigning.

If you have kids, or a kid’s heart, do youself a favor and get yourself a copy. Leave me your request in the comments and I can arrange for you to get a signed copy! If you miss out on this opportunity, I guarantee that for a long time, “your brow will be knit together and your smiles will be drooping low.” Leave me a comment and get yours now for only $16.

Carter - Land, Sea, and Air

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

Carter is an awesome little boy and he is no stranger to my camera. You can see why; he’s good-looking and tons o’ fun. His parents aren’t too shabby either. They happen to be great friends and they booked me for a session at the park. Here is a quick sneak peek!

I love the story behind this picture…Carter feeling safe and playing in the shadow of his strong Daddy.

Carter loves to climb trees and hang in the air…

…and he loves to play in the water!

He even persuaded Mommy and Daddy to join him.

So young and already so GQ.

Ah…the secrets that young boys keep in their pockets.

Puns can be cheesy, and I can be too. This kid ROCKS!

Thanks for spending the morning with me. Shannon you’re a trooper!
