Family Reunion in Richland, WA

Monday, June 30th, 2008

I have lots to blog about, I just need the time to do it.  First off, our good friends’ grandparents just celebrated their SIXTIETH anniversary…count ‘em up.  The flowers and ribbon in the picture below were from their wedding!  I tried to compose a picture of the flowers/ribbon at the base of a huge tree as a special symbol of just how much their love and devotion has founded.  As they say, it’s about the roots.  Do you have stories of lasting love that you can share?  Hit the comments if you do.

Our friends are very fortunate.  They have a great family and it was a pleasure to be a part of some very significant family portraits.

Keepsake Bible

Here’s the whole crew.  The five children (including their spouses and children) put together an intimate party to celebrate their parents’ anniversary.  The celebration was held in the back yard, which is where, for the most part, the five children grew up.

The whole family

Here are the five children…a good-looking bunch.  Their parents have much to be proud of.

The fabulous five children

Here are the Mean Girls grandkids.

Congratulations and may God continue to bless!

Engagement Portraits on a Farm in Kennewick, Washington

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

This great couple is getting married this fall in Hermiston.  He works in the agriculture industry and so it made sense to do their engagement session at a farm.  I happen to have some good friends who live on a farm and they hooked us up with a full access pass to their acreage.  ”Someone” gave these two wrong directions to the farm.  But, once I straightened the lovely couple out about the differences between heading east versus west, we had a great time.  I can’t wait to hang with them again at their wedding.  Until then, here’s a sample of how we roll country style.

“She thinks his tractor’s sexy…”

Geez!  These two make my job easy.

What the hay rye?!  Actually, I grew up in big cities…I’m not even sure if that grass is rye.  Hit me in the comments…is this rye?

Probably one of my favorite shots to date involving flare.  Couldn’t have composed it for a better couple.

Doctor Daddy…Mwah-ha-ha!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

My boy is really into Super Heroes right now.  He really loves to do battle with me, Doctor Daddy, while he is Spiderman.  Even my sweet Emma gets in on the action.  Earlier today, she even broke out her kung-fu against me.  All of that to say that I love being a daddy.  And, I am blessed with uber-sweet kids.  Here are a few snap shots from Father’s Day at our house this year.

This is my Daddy’s Day card.  See if you can locate Spiderman, as drawn by Lucas.  Here’s a hint…Spiderman wears red and blue.

Here’s my boy making his getaway in a boat…

Emma helping me with one of my usual responsibilities.  It is Father’s Day, after all.  Good girl giving Daddy a break!

 The FAB FAM!

Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads!

Facelift - From Blugly to Blogtractive

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

As you can see, my blog has undergone a major transformation.  And, what is really cool is that it cost me too many hours of my life nothing!  After hacking away behind the blog scenes, my advice is to kiss your favorite computer geek.  My eyes are seriously wiggin’ out after the number of hours I’ve spent in front of my screen.  Needless to say, I am no compu-jock.  Anyway, the changes from here on out are going to be minor, but they are coming.

What am I most excited about?  Beautiful, huge 900 pixel-wide images…oh yeah.  That’s big.

Free Portraits for Teens

Monday, June 9th, 2008

I’m happy to announce that I will be offering complimentary portrait sessions for teen mothers and their children! I’m partnering with the teen MOPS group from Bethel Church for this event. If you don’t know, “MOPS” stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, and is an international organization focused on meeting the needs of mommy’s everywhere. I’ll be taking the pictures and teen MOPS will be covering the cost of providing two sheets of prints for each mommy. As you can see from the flier below, the portrait sessions will have to be scheduled on one of two days, August 1st from 4-7 pm, or August 2nd from 9 am to noon. Please call Penny at 509.628.8381, and do it today. Space is very limited and we’re going to be spreading the word throughout our community.

If you can’t take advantage of this opportunity, please help us get the word out to those who can! We’re looking to create joy and encouragement. You can play a part by telling your friends, linking to this post, or leaving a kind comment.

MOPS + ATP = Free Portraits

I am always looking for good and encouraging ways to leverage my photography for the benefit of others.  And, thanks to some friends who are involved with a local MOPS group, I have a cool opportunity in the works.  Stay tuned for details VERY soon…
